Originally, Muay Thai was developed several hundred years ago to utilise the body as a weapon in combat. The hands would become the sword and dagger, the shins and forearms would act as armour against blows, the elbow was used as a mace or hammer to fell opponents and the legs and knees became the axe and staff. Altogether, the body would act as one unit weapon.
Today, we teach Muay Thai at Core Strength Fitness for self-defence, fitness and enjoyment. We focus on the foundation of quality basics up to competition level to ensure we develop each and every individual.
Muay Thai is ran by Chris Petrie at Core Strength Fitness.
