Teens Take Control is a program designed by Core Strength Fitness to provide a significant and positive impact on the lives of the Sunshine Coast’s at-risk youth. We are dedicated to using our expertise and resources to provide education, skills, training and job placement opportunities for these youth to improve their lives during the program and beyond.

Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways

The Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways is a four-week, five-day program that provides students with all of the tools they need to successfully enter and remain in the workforce.

Over the course of the program, students are presented with educational and learning opportunities that allow them to develop and engage in teambuilding, leadership and personal development. The course also provides students with work skills development such as customer service training, motivation and mindset, job placement opportunities, first aid certificate as well as personal skills such as health and fitness training, education, nutrition and cooking lessons among others.

The Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways is ran by Brenden, Oki and Asha and takes place at Core Strength Fitness, and The Base Gym located in Twin Waters. On successful completion of the program, students will find themselves equipped with the skills to enter the workforce, and to excel both personally and professionally.

The course also provides students with health and fitness education and a taste of the fitness industry to encourage them to consider a career in this field or elsewhere.

Mentoring

Our mentoring sessions provide mediation, understanding and conflict resolution strategies for parents, young people and families to help them overcome their household and family challenges.

Throughout these sessions, family members will learn how to better communicate with one-another and resolve issues that may be causing tension within the household. By discussing these challenges with the Core Strength Fitness staff, family members are able to gain an outside perspective on what is troubling them, and strategies they may not have considered to overcome these issues. Overall, the sessions aim to equip families with the skills they need to ensure they can navigate family life smoothly and positively.

Mentoring sessions are ran by Brenden or Oki and take place at Core Strength Fitness.
